One teacher with three 4th grade students in a lesson. First a discussion, “what do you know about prime numbers” to assess current knowledge. Definition given, the group then considers together whether numbers 1-5 are prime. The follow up work will be to continue considering numbers up to 100. One student declares “I knew about a list of prime numbers, now I understand more what they really are!”
Now the lesson becomes one of refining the students’ executive function skills. When will the final work be due? Teacher leads the students through their planners, adding dates, considering process and time with them to land on Tuesday the 25th as the due date.
