At the start of every month all our students, faculty and staff gather for All School Assembly. Sujata Rege Konowitz, our Music Teacher, leads the proceedings. Each class is invited to make announcements, we call those who have birthdays that month to stand and be celebrated and Burchie Green lends her talent to the musical portions. In her leadership role, Sujata chooses songs with Burchie and weaves a story or two all on a specific theme.

This month she told two stories on the theme of kindness. One about two buildings – ours across the street that is being built up one piece at a time, another she witnessed being torn down. The second story was of a science experiment in water displacement and ripples. Big objects and small were dropped into the bowl of water. Big and small made different size ripples; all had an effect on the water. Our acts of kindness, big or small, build us up and ripple outwards. Her storytelling gently led the assembled group to consider kindness and its impact. Thanks Sujata!
