TOY DRIVE FOR CASA LATINA’S THREE KINGS DAY CELEBRATION

We’re still collecting new, unwrapped toys or games to contribute to Casa Latina’s Three Kings Day celebration to be held on Saturday, January 10th. The toys will be distributed to the children (infants to teens) who attend the celebration.
Casa Latina, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services to the local Latino communities of Northampton, Florence, and Amherst. The organization provides interpretation services, educational programs, community activities, information and referral programs. Every January, Casa Latina partners with the United Way of Hampshire County to provide age-appropriate gifts to 175 plus children of low income families who attend their annual Three Kings Day (scheduled for Saturday, January 10th). Three Kings Day is celebrated throughout Latin America and “honors the visit of the three wise men who gave a variety of gifts to Jesus a few days after his birth. The celebration is on January 6, which also signifies the end of the 12 days of Christmas.”  http://www.centralfloridafuture.com/news/hispanic-culture
This an opportunity for you and your child to show the true meaning of the holiday season by donating a new, unopened toy or game (not gift wrapped). You may also make a monetary donation (checks can be made out to Casa Latina, Inc. Holiday Toy Collection) or donate a gift card to help offset the cost of the event.
Rose Cabrera in the front office, who is on the Board of Casa Latina, will be collecting donations. You may drop off your donations to the box located in the front hall. We’ll be accepting donations through Thursday, January 8th. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
