PRIMARY (3-6, pre-K) LEAD TEACHER : The Montessori School of Northampton is looking for a dynamic, creative and nurturing Lead Teacher for our combined preschool/kindergarten program who is passionate about Montessori education. As Lead Teacher your responsibilities will include creating classroom materials and activities, presenting Montessori primary curriculum, supervising Assistant Teachers, effectively communicating with families and reporting to the Director. We seek teachers who can not only present Montessori curriculum but also act as ambassadors for Montessori philosophy to our families. Candidates should effectively plan and problem-solve with a team, have a sense of humor and relate warmly and effectively to others. The ability to understand and work with different learning styles is required.
Qualifications: Massachusetts EEC Lead Teacher certified. Certification from an accredited AMS Montessori Teacher Program (Primary, 3-6). Three or more years of previous lead teaching experience.
- Responsible for preparing an environment in which the furnishings and materials are complete and correspond to the needs of the students
- Maintain a clear, orderly, and attractive Montessori environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials
- Provide educational plans (when necessary)
- Prepare and execute parent/teacher conferences
