A parent who was observing in a Children’s House (preschool and kindergarten) classroom was excited to share this story of what he saw unfold that morning.

A kindergarten child was working diligently on drawing and painting a continent map. When the colors went where the child did not wish them to go they became upset.  So who helped?

Guidance and encouragement came from all.  The teacher worked with the child  to blend and shade the area to bring it closer to her vision of how the work should look.  They next took the work around to show friends and share the story of the process. Classmates provided positive feedback for the finished product and the hard work that went into it.  Some days are easier than others.

What we do when we struggle and how our struggles are guided and appreciated can make all the difference.
